Couples Therapy
Katie Bassiri, LPCC RPT-S and her supervisees provide couples counseling. Katie Bassiri completed Levels 1 and Level 2 of the Gottman Method for couples therapy in 2021. The Gottman Method is an approach to couples therapy that includes a thorough assessment of the couple's relationship and integrates research-based interventions based on the Sound Relationship House Theory. These methods, developed by Doctors John and Julie Gottman, are the most effective and evidence-based form of couples therapy available today.

Couples Workshops
In addition to couples therapy sessions with a Treehouse therapist, we offer psychoeducational workshops titled "The Seven Principles Workshop for Couples," which are also based on the Gottman Method. These twelve-hour workshops take place over two days. They are led by Katie and Alex Bassiri, a couple since 2006, who are both trained Gottman Leaders. These workshops are psychoeducational and are not group therapy. During the workshops, couples listen to short presentations and then complete exercises with their partner that are designed to build friendship, help manage conflict, and build shared meaning. Couples do not share any personal information with the group.
